About Me

Over the years (and decades), Daniel wrote many songs that, for one reason or another, didn't quite fit with any of the bands he plays in (SHArQ, The Ambiguities, The Wherewithal). They didn't get to play any reindeer games, and so these neglected songs grew increasingly lonely and sad. In 2004, Daniel began creating the basic tracks for the misfit songs on his Tascam 4 track cassette recorder. Then transferred them to 24 track at Sow's Ear Studio and added more tracks, and then they were transferred again into Protools at Apophenia Studio. Here he, producer Norm Demoura, and several fantastic guest musicians continued layering voices, dobros, brushed PBR cans, banjouds, secret weapons, and sundry other sonic textures till there was no more space for adding, and then they began to subtract. In July '08, the first 5 songs were finished and mastered, and the ep "Bridges Freeze First" released into the cosmos. Daniel and Norm continue to fine tune the full 14 song album, "Frost Heaves," but the end is in sight. Soon these songs will be free to go forth and make friends where they will...
