Steve Roberson

About Me

The youngest of eight, Steve Roberson was born in Arab, Alabama, on November 17, 1972. Growing up his greatest love was split between music and professional wrestling. When he wasn't pretending to be the DJ of his very own radio station, he was in his father's lap watching the legends of wrestling at their best. In his teens, he became involved in the wrestling circuit in the ring with some of the greats. After being injured in the ring, his focus then shifted back to music. In the late 90s, he became a radio DJ for Y102 in Montgomery, Alabama, then for Rooster 106 in Columbus, Georgia. After a short stint as a Promoter for the Chippendales male dance review, he returned home, ready for a new beginning. Within the next couple of years, Steve rededicated his life to Christ. He spent the next four years singing the lead part all over the Southeast with Gene Lowery and The Samaritans, a southern gospel group based out of his hometown of Clanton, Alabama. In May 2006, he married the love of his life, Jana. In June 2008, Steve suffered from a split vocal cord and had to take some time off the road. The doctors expected surgery and not even able to speak for a year. However, he has now received a clean bill of health from his doctor with no surgery at all. Praise The Lord!!!! Steve has now began a solo career as well as joining forces with Scott and Lisa Roberts of Broken Vessel Ministries to reach souls for Christ.
Scott and Lisa were married January 10, 2009. They have both been in music ministry the majority of their lives. God brought them together and they quickly realized that music was something that would forever be a part of their lives.
Scott started playing piano when he was 6 years old. He traveled with his dad's groups; The Journeymen and The Gospel Echos, and sang and played a little keyboard in between the groups sets. This placed a love for Gospel Music in his heart that would always be there. His family started a group called The Ambassadors when Scott was 11 years old. He sung tenor and played bass guitar for several years until he assumed the pianist role for the group. In 2002 Scott went to Thomasville, AL where he was youth pastor of Thomasville Church of God. In 2004, God allowed Scott to join The MaHarreys where he played keyboard and sang lead and harmonies. His time with The MaHarreys brought two national radio releases in which Scott sung lead vocals; "Did You Forget God Today", and "I've Just Seen The Rock Of Ages". The Ambassadors was Scott's family... including his Dad; Jimmy, his mom; Debbie; and his Brother; Tim, and his cousin; Don Welborn... and although The MaHarreys were not immediate family, they did become Scott's family. Paul, Judy, Daniel, Nancy, Clint, and Cliff has been a tremendous part of Scott's life for the past five years and will continue to be.
When asked when she started singing, Lisa said, "I don't remember not singing...". She honed her skills through vocal schools and God given ability. She has won several trophies, ribbons, medals, certificates, and awards for her talents. In 2001 she performed in "The Nutcracker" on Broadway in New York City. Before moving to Alabama, Lisa was a vocal performance major at Southern Arkansas University. She has taken part in many choirs ranging from 10 to 300 voices. Lisa has attended the Stamps Baxter School of Music for two years where she studied under many of todays top Gospel Music teachers and performers. Lisa joined Pardoned in 2008. She traveled throughout the South singing lead and harmonies. Lisa resigned her position with Pardoned in late 2008 but not before one of her trips to Alabama introduced her to Scott. After dating for almost a year, the two were married and Lisa moved to Alabama.
God has brought these two ministries together for such a time as this for a special purpose. Scott and .. are both walking miracles. Scott was born with a bone disease called Osteo Genesis Imperfecta. This disease causes the bones to break easily. He has had numerous broken bones throughout his life leaving him in a wheelchair. As we forementioned, Steve was hurt in the wrestling ring... After seven back, and two hip surgeries he was no longer able to walk. But here is where the miracles happened.
Scott spent much of his life with casts on his legs and arms. Many times he was in body casts from his chest to his feet. But through it all, with parents that taught him to trust God in whatever condition or situation you are in. Scott's dad; Jimmy, had the same bone disease, so Scott knew that life could still be wonderful even with difficulties. But he realized his need to ask Jesus to be Lord of his life when he was 12 years old, and God completely healed his bones. He's never had another break since that day. He now walks with a walker he calls the "Scott Rod".
The doctors told Steve that he would be paralyzed for the rest of his life. However, the Lord had different plans that neither Steve nor the doctors knew about. He began to walk again and the Lord proved the doctors were wrong.
Scott, Lisa, Steve, and Jana want people in which they minister, to be encouraged in whatever trial they may be going through, that God is in control and He has a plan for Your life. They are excited about the new chapter of their lives that they are beginning. They feel that they are called to travel across the country and share their testimony of God's healing power.
