Kimberly Adams is a Classical/Folk singer and has been performing on stage since the age of 7. Music has always been an influence and a daily routine in her life. Writing and Performing for Kimberly was a sense of therapy and a way for her to understand who she was on her own.
Kimberly’s break through role was in Mother Goose, (simply because she was the only one that didn’t need stuffing in order to fit into the pre-made dress.) Once she performed in front of people, she was told that there was a certain sparkle in her eye and a love beginning to form for the stage.
At 15, Kimberly was invited to join a group called “The d’Oriale Singers.” Here she would tour and gain recognition with the media and locals. Kimberly later moved to British Columbia where she was not only invited to join the Surrey Youth Choir, but the Senior Choir as well. Many opportunities occurred here for Kimberly, but she knew she needed more than just a voice, she wanted the knowledge.
In 2006, Kimberly graduated Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario where she studied Classical and Operatic voice and learned how to sing in many languages; her favourite language being German. In second year, Kimberly was awarded with a cheque from the Sudbury Opera Guild for her talent. She was also honoured to take part in a recording for the CBC with her choir and would make it to the semi finals. Kimberly would also be a part of Sudbury’s best known choir “Bel Canto” under the direction of Marion Harvey. Here she would take part in other recordings and sold out performances across the city.
After college, Kimberly would take one year at Laurentian University but soon leave wanting to branch out of Sudbury. She auditioned for Western in London, Ontario but unfortunately, was not accepted.
At 24, Kimberly then moved back to her home town of New Liskeard, Ontario where she would write and learn songs on her own. She would even attempt recording in a studio but would not be successful simply because the engineers didn’t know how to properly capture her big voice. She would still jam with them, but later move to Edmonton, Alberta where she currently resides writing and recording with her own equipment.
