Our names are Owen Jefferson Wilson Kanz and Lolita Consuela Rosario Kanz.
I'm a two-year-old pekingese and already my life has been quite the adventure.
originally, I had a home, north of dallas, but the people I lived with decided they didn't want me anymore so they left me at the local junkyard. I lived there for several months, where I was tied with a cable and drinking rainwater out of an oil pan from a car.
Then one afternoon, I was saved by an animal rescue organization.
not only was I extremely emaciated, there was also a piece of metal, from the cable, embedded in my left eye, which had to be removed.
I lived with my foster mom Dusti and all her animals for a month before my new mom found me. She drove 8 hours just to get me.
Lola was left in the backyard of her home, without food, water and shelter after her family had moved away.
A volunteer with an animal rescue organization, who is also a realtor, found her when she was appraising the house in preparation of selling it. The couple, who owned the house, was getting a divorce and had just left her there. The volunteer contacted the rescue organization, and Lola's mom eventually signed her over to the group.
Lola lived with a really nice lady named Angela for a couple of weeks before we adopted her. Angela said Lola was always a shy, quiet dog; however, Lola has completely come out of her shell now, and she's almost as wild as I am.
The rescue group was able to find out that Lola was hit by a car, at some point in her life, from her first family, and that's how she lost her right eye.
Our new mommy is the best, and she said that she knew as soon as she saw both of us, we were meant to be hers. She is the best. She loves us so much and calls us her "little angels"- even when we're naughty. Some people even say we're spoiled, but she thinks we deserve it since the first part of our lives were so bad. We have lots of clothes too, but not nearly as much as my mom- she's a clothes hound.
We also have a dad. He never liked dogs before he met us. He even thought our mom was crazy when they first started dating because she loved us so much. In the last year, we have completely won over his heart. He babies us gives us treats almost more than our mom.
We also have a grandpa ("Popsie") and a grandma ("Butter") who love me lots. Popsie is my best buddy. He even bought me a tshirt that says "i love my grandpa".
We have the best new life, and we're so happy. We have lots of animal friends, including my pug cousins, Winston and Muffin; donkeys, Taco and Rosie and their new baby Uno; and Posie's puppy, Chuy, whom we are still deciding if we really like or not. There are also a lot of Chihuahuas that are our neighbors, as well as a Daschund, but we aren't too find of them either.
I admit, we like to wreak havoc sometimes, and I like to eat poop and bark at cats. Anything we can do to create chaos is up our alley.
We feel very blessed that we were given the chance at a new life because we know the rest of our lives will be wonderful, and it will make up for our rough beginnings.
I'd also like to add that Lola snores louder than anyone in the house... including our dad.
