Hope and Anchor June 16th
Hell yeah dudes The Rocket Dolls hit town last night and boy did the earth move, even friends in LA could hear them from there. The Dolls played a blistering 30 minute set which included crowd favourites Get A Grip and Delirium that literally set the place on fire, Ben was keeping a consistent steady n heavy beat on the skins backed up by Steve's pounding bad ass bass and rythms, then there was Nikki the only man I know to be able to feed back an acoustic ripped up the stage with his searing guitar and scorching vocals. The Rocket Dolls chewed barbed wire and spat razor blades last night and the crowd loved them for it, if you weren't there you missed a spectacle of unimaginable proportions and if you were you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The Rocket Dolls kick serious ass and are playing at The Water Rats in Kings X on 21st July and hell I'm going to be there with bloody bells on and I hope dear friends you can make it too !!
The Water Rats July 21st
Hey dudes, you know what, last night I went to a Rock'n'Roll show, it was at The Water Rats in Kings X London, but hell my friends no ordinary rock'n'roll show, this one was special, why was this special I hear you ask, it was special because I was in the presence of greatness, I was watching a band who in time will be a phenomenal force in rock history, a band that will stand the test of time and earn their place in the rock'n'roll hall of fame, that band my friends was The Rocket Dolls.
The Dolls opened up their set in darkness with a very dark spoken intro which asked the eager crowd at its end "Are You Ready.....Are.........You......Ready", the lights went up and The Dolls exploded onto the stage with "Bleeding the Shame" instantly followed by new track "Frame", the dolls were on fire tonight, Nikki Smash jumped into the crowd spitting fire with his vocals and venom in his guitar licks, the atmosphere was totally electric, so much so that drummer Ben Knopfler managed to split metal tipped sticks ripping his hands to shreds during the course of the set, licking the blood from his hands with reckless abandon he hit those skins harder with a smile that would tease any would be vamp and Steve Golder on bass was equally magically, managing to keep that bad ass bass real steady through all the blood and fire.
The dolls finished up their 30 minute set with "Get a Grip" & "Delirium", Nikki's guitar flew into his amp as he left the stage and the audience, desperate for more gave the guys a resounding ovation that stated quiet clearly "We Want More", we hope that we do get more and we hope that it is soon............very soon, once again Rocket Dolls, London loves you and please come back real soon. - The Water Rats
