About Me

Tony picked up the guitar as a kid growing up in Orange County, California. Like most musicians will tell you, it was a great way to get invited to parties and meet girls. With his brother, Carlos, he formed the band Speed of Light and they ruled the Orange County School Dance/Backyard Kegger scene for a few years. In 1976, the Cavazo brothers formed the band, Snow, with Tony on bass and Carlos on guitar. Wanting to grow beyond the Kegger scene, they moved a few miles north to take on the big city of Los Angeles. Only problem was they needed a drummer who could keep up. Then they met Stephen Quadros. With Q onboard, Snow quickly made a name for themselves on the Sunset Strip scene. Snow recorded an E.P. in 1983 and were about ready to follow in their formal rival, Van Halen’s, footsteps when it all fell apart. Carlos was offered a very lucrative deal to join Quiet Riot who already had their major label contract in place. Since Quiet Riot didn’t need to hire a bass player, the Cavazo brothers, for the first time ever, were not in a band together. Tony was left without a guitar player and Snow dissolved. However, he did continue work with his brother and other members of Quiet Riot, co-writing numerous tunes, including the smash hit “Metal Health (Bang Your Head).”Tony briefly played with the band Dangerface, which included ex-Snow mate, Stephen Quadros. In 1984, he was a founding member of the rock group Hurricane who recorded three albums with Enigma. They were in rotation on MTV , and toured extensively in the US, Canada, and Japan. The group disbanded in 1990, at which time Tony moved to Memphis, Tennessee to be near his children and watch them grow up. It was there Tony started his trade as a carpenter and began serious study of his primary musical obsession, classical guitar. Seeing as how guitars attract girls in Tennessee the same as in California, Tony soon found himself with a new love and a new child. In 2002, Tony moved back to California where several of his musician buddies encouraged his return to music. In addition to Sacred Cowboys, Tony plays with Little George and the D.U.I.'s and SNOW.
