Full Name (First, Middle, [Maiden] and Surname)? Dante Alberto Bacani
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YEAR) and Zodiac sign? 05/10/1966; Taurus
What's your Body Mass Index (BMI)? If you don't know, click here for an online calculator. 30.3 – yikes! :-) Time to start working out again…
What's your Myers-Briggs personality type? If you don't know, take the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (it's free -- just register) and learn yours. ENFP
Where are you on the Enneagram? If you don't know, click here and find out. 7 - The Adventurer/Enthusiast
On who's MySpace profile did you find this questionnaire and how do you know each other? Richelle Mon had a version of this questionnaire on her MySpace profile, which was the inspiration for mine. [She's not on MySpace anymore, from what I can tell.] I met her through Brian & Nancy, who were members of my now-defunct book group.
Who was your first kiss and how old were you at the time? I'm not sure, to be honest! It was while playing "Spin the Bottle" at a party in 8th grade, from what I recall. (After more than a quarter century, details like this get fuzzy...it must not've been a great kiss!)
Are you religious or spiritual? Do you distinguish between the two? Very spiritual, and I think there's a BIG difference -- I'm not particularly religious. (Being one doesn't necessarily mean you're the other as well, though it's possible to be both.)
Who would play you in the movie? A shorter, fatter Keanu Reeves or Johnny Depp.
Would you rather be able to fly or to turn invisible? [Question inspired by the Superpowers episode of "This American Life".] I'd rather be able to turn invisible -- then I could sneak onto planes to compensate for the lack of flight powers!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A doctor and a pop star.
What's your pet peeve? People who talk REALLY LOUDLY on their cell phones in public places. A corollary: anyone who answers their cell phone during a movie (they should be dragged out and flogged).
Political leanings (Democrat/Republican, liberal/conservative, anarchist, whatever)? Independent/moderate.
War: What is it good for? Absolutely nuthin' -- say it again!
What's your favorite place to have a drink? (Alcohol or non-alcohol) A relatively low-key lounge that plays music low enough so that you can talk w/o having to yell, soft, indirect lighting, and adequate ventilation so that I don't smell like smoke when I leave. Unfortunately, I can't think of anyplace in Chicago that fits that description, so I may have to open up my own bar. :-)
What kind of drink do you have there? A very dirty vodka martini (pref. Grey Goose or Ketel One) with bleu-cheese stuffed olives.
What's your special talent/gift? I'm pretty good at organizing large parties/events, and I'm also good at bringing people together.

You're stranded on a desert island -- which five DVDs do you want to be stranded with? (Trilogies or box sets count as one.) The Lord of the Rings - director's cut; Star Wars episodes IV-V-VI (i.e., the originals from 1977-1983); Adaptation; The Indiana Jones trilogy; The Forty-Year Old Virgin.
Things are getting serious with the person you've been dating, and now it's time to program an iTunes playlist for their iPod. Name up to 10 songs you'd play for them and why they're in the playlist. "Red Blue and Grey" - The Who (sung by Pete Townshend, it's one of the most exquisite love songs I know); "Original of the Species" - U2 (their best love song yet); "The Sweetest Thing" - U2 (their next best love song); "Here, There, and Everywhere" - The Beatles (maybe the best love song ever); "When We Dance" – Sting; "Human Hands" - Elvis Costello & The Attractions (taking a page from the Beatles' production techniques); "Yellow" – Coldplay; "Forever in My Life" – Prince; "500 Miles (I'm Gonna Be)" – The Proclaimers; "Woman" – John Lennon.

Do you have a "significant other"? If so, how did you meet and when did you "know"? No.

What's the last book you read? Would you recommend it? ABOUT A BOY by Nick Hornby (who also wrote two wonderful books, HIGH FIDELITY and FEVER PITCH ). I would recommend it, though I think this is an instance where the movie actually improves upon the book. Currently reading LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
What's the most-recent thing you Google'd? Distance and directions on Google Maps.
Do you play an instrument? If yes, which one(s)? I play guitar and a little bit of keyboards.
If you don't play an instrument, are there any you'd like to learn? (Assume time and expense are not factors.) I'd love to learn how to play stand up bass, the bagpipes, and the accordion (seriously!).
What mannerism or saying of a parent (mother or father) are you embarrassed to find yourself mimicking now that you're an adult? I cringe when I heard myself scolding my dog and sounding almost exactly like my father did when scolding me (or my sister & brother).
Did you keep any of your resolutions from this past New Year's? Which one(s)? I didn't make any this year.

Favorite board game? Trivial Pursuit
Can you sing? How well? I can carry a tune, but more importantly, I can *sell* a tune.
If you could own one famous/influential piece of art (painting, sculpture, photograph, a manuscript, whatever), which would it be and why? [Assume cost and availability are not factors.] Van Gogh's " Starry Night " -- but if I could have the original art boards for Action Comics #1 (first appearance of Superman) or Detective Comics #27 (first appearance of the Batman), I'd probably take them over the Van Gogh.
What's the last thing you bought or sold on eBay? Bought: HDMI cables for the new HDTV and PlayStation I bought over the weekend. Sold: Some label refills for a Brother label maker that weren't the right size for mine.
If you run for political office and you're asked about whether you've ever engaged in recreational drug use ("Did you inhale?", etc.), how will you answer? Yes, I inhaled, but I was 30 the first time I tried it and I did it a half-dozen times at most. Furthermore, I was pretty drunk already in every instance when I tried it, so I can't say I know what getting stoned feels like as an isolated experience.

The Belly-Button Question: In-sie or Out-sie? In-sie

Ginger or Mary Ann? Another tough one -- Ginger, only because she's a redhead.
Jennifer or Angelina? Angelina
The celebrity pornstar question: Paris or Pamela? I'd rather choose between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee.

One more: Spock or Data? Spock
Superman or Batman? Batman

Beatles or Rolling Stones? Beatles (though I love the Stones, too).
Leno or Letterman? Letterman
The Fat Cartoon Father question: Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin ("Family Guy")? Homer!

The Chicago daily newspaper question: Tribune or Sun-Times? Tribune (except for sports and movie reviews, where the Sun-Times excels)

Do you believe in ghosts? Yes -- I grew up in a haunted house.
Do you believe there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe? [Assuming it exists on Earth...] Absolutely! However, I *don't* believe aliens have visited our planet yet -- it'd be cool if that happened during my lifetime, though.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The kind of girl I'd like to spend the rest of my life with (and -- just as important -- one who'd feel the same way about me)! Also, Bono and The Edge are high on my list; screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Human Nature, and the screen adaptation of Chuck Barris' Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which was George Clooney's directorial debut -- and a great one at that). I'd like to meet Salma Hayek and Chiara Mastorianni. Stephen Colbert. The list could go on...
