Anita Mieze (Latvia, 1980) is a Latvian composer and visual artist. Now studying music composition with Erik Oña at the Elektronisches Studio Basel .
2008 received Master in music - composition at the Latvian Music Academy. 2007/2008 studied at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel Hochschule für Musik with prof. Roland Moser . 2006 received Bachelor in music - composition, studied with Nic Gotham and Selga Mence.
2006 participated in the composition seminar with Jonathan Harvey organized by TENSO .
2006 was an active participant in the electroacoustic workshop held by Mauro Lanza and Yan Maresz during the New Music Festival ARENA in Riga.
2006 awarded in the competition for composition CULTURESCAPES 2006 in cooperation with Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel.
2007 took part in the Centre Acanthes workshops, placed under the artistic direction of Michael Jarrell, Yan Maresz and Marco Stroppa.
2008 was an active participant in the Centre Acanthes workshops with Salvatore Sciarrino, Michèle Reverdy and Fabio Nieder. The composition for symphony orchestra Izgaismošana was first performed by the Orchestre National de Lorraine with conductor Diego Masson .
2008 has won the second prize in the 4th PRE-ART competition for young composers in Zürich, Switzerland.
