Beach Boys Historic Landmark

I am here for Friends

About Me

SITE OF THE CHILDHOOD HOME OF THE BEACH BOYS: It was here in the home of parents Murry and Audree that Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson grew to manhood and developed their musical skills. During Labor Day weekend 1961, they, with cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine, gathered here to record a tape of their breakthrough song "Surfin'." This marked the birth of the rock group known worldwide as the Beach Boys, and the beginning of an historic musical legacy that would change the recording industry. The music of the Wilsons, Love, Jardine, and friend David Marks broadcast to the world an image of California as a place of sun, surf, and romance. Brian Wilson would become a legendary producer, arranger, and songwriter.
The California Registered Historical Landmark #1041 was dedicated on May 20, 2005. It is located at 3701 W. 119th Street in Hawthorne, California.
This MySpace page is not affiliated in any way with the Beach Boys or their incorporations. The monument is a property belonging to the people of the state of California, and to Beach Boys fans everywhere.

BECOME A PART OF BEACH BOYS HISTORY!
Bricks are still being sold and engraved on the Beach Boys' California Historic Landmark. All proceeds go to the maintenance fund, to support graffiti removal, care, maintenance, and grooming of the Landmark, and for paying for the cost of the structure.

The 4 X 8 bricks are located on the inside of upper pillars next to the "surfboard" panel. Their cost is $260.00 USD. You may chose one line of text, not to exceed 20 letters, characters and spaces.
