About Me

my family in the 1920s
~me~
I created this page because I'm absolutely into anything and everything vintage! I love the classic lifestyle! I guess it's a yearning for a time of more elegance and splendor. I really enjoy living in modern times but it seems I'm an old soul who's longing for the charme of another era.
To my person...I'm a small brunette from Berlin,Germany. I'm 32 years of age and I'm a secretary and a housewife. I love Berlin, it's a fabulous place to live! It has many historical places though a lot of them were destroyed in WW2. Of course, a lot have changed in the last 100 years and, in my opinion, a lot of places has lost a lot of their charme, for example „unter den Linden“. I'm very interested in Berlins history, everything from 1870 to the cold war, especially the wilhelminian era and weimar times.
In general, I love the victorian and edwardian era, with its gas-lanterns and carriages...the roaring twenties with all that jazz, those swinging thirties and fourties...almost everything from the 1880s to the early 1960s. Interior, clothing and lifestyle of these times. I enjoy being outside, in the nature, sit in the garden or walk through the woods. I like every season and especially in fall and winter it's very nice, sitting by the fireplace with a cup of tea and knit something or read a good book. Books are one of my heartfelt passions. Just as all the old movies. I love watching them on TCM or DVD, mostly the ones with Jean Harlow. She is my absolutely favourite! I also like german movies from the 50s and 60s.
My family and friends are most important to me, so I spend a lot of time with them. I guess, I'm mainly a „home“-person. I love taking care of my flowers, baking, cooking, seeking, knitting, reading, watching TV, listening to a crackling old music recording or jazz-radio, writing letters or look after my internet-projects. Besides this, I also have to do the housework. I like having a quiet dinner in my favourite restaurant, go to the movies or to a museum, the fleamarket, an antiques-trade or to the library.
So now, light some candles and leave these modern world behind...
Welcome to the GLAMOUR OF THE PAST!

my family...

I guess it's some kind of tradition in this family to get the children late! My grandma was 30 when she became a mum the first time, my mum was 24! Well, I'm 32 now and I don't have kids yet! We'll...
