Rarely can a band say they've taken influence from such a multitude of different and normally obscure bands, but Heavens Gate do this and much more. Their more apparent influence is taken from Meshuggah, Blood Has Been Shed and Botch. This mixed with the groove of Pantera and extremity of Burnt by The Sun makes for a truely phenomenal sound.
Formed in January '07 and hailing from Romford, Essex this 5 piece thrash/progressive metal band, have hit Britain by storm with their tight as hell live show. The band are currently in the process of finalizing their debut E.P. entitled "Victors of Circumstance", this 5 track CD has been long awaited by fans and industry alike.
The band is made up of ex members from some of the best veteran undergound bands including "Set in Silence" and "Stoopi". Despite being relative newcomers the band can hold their own against the best. There is a difference between riffs and good riffs, and this band have good catchy riffs aplenty provided by axe wielders Fish Tank and R.Slade.Sansford (an old friend who stepped in after D.Abela left to pursue his company, Escape route productions), mixed with the brutal throaty gurglings of Joe Denby and a solid rythm backbone locked in tight by Andy Rawlings and drummer Jamie Abela. Heavens Gate are en-route to re-installing prog as one of the major genre's of metal.
