Greetings, dwellers of the Earth, the name is Chelsey Culbert (that's COL - BEAR to you, and yes, I'm having Stephen Colbert's babies). Sixteen years I've lived and finally an UPPERclassman (bow to the merciless SENIOR!). I'm Vice President of the Ecology Club, a SKIP intern, a peer tutor, Copy Editor for Tide Lines newspaper, a majorette and member of the Astronomy Club.
Here's a list of some things you should know about me and all that mumbo jumbo:
1. Strange, bizarre, wacky, uncanny, odd, weird … yep, that's me. :)
2. I'm not one known to possess standards, limitations, expectations, or anything related to the previously mentioned.
3. Don't be surprised if I ask rhetorical questions. It's just my philosophical mannerism (that never shuts up!).
4. No religious devotions here. The best way to describe me is (a)a skeptic and (b)an Epicurean. Basically, I don't believe that anything can be known for certain and that the greatest good in life is happiness. Honestly, I'm tired of trying to find the ultimate answer to the (not so) ultimate question of life. I'll probably never get an answer anyway, and why should I want one? What would be the point of living if you already know the reason why you are in the first place? (Sorry for the philosophical outburst … )
5. Linking to the former statement, I live my life however the hell I want. As soon as I'm on my own, I'm going where I want to go and doing what I want to do. Pleasure in life is my goal.
6. As for fashion, I could care less. Essentially, I'm a shirt, jeans, hoodie and Converse kind of girl. I like to wear shirts with pictures and logos of things I like on them.
7. I'm a huge supporter of the arts. I adore 19th century European art, especially works by Van Gogh and Monet. I also believe in other forms of self-expression including body peircings and tattoos.
8. Classic rock, indie and folk are my absolute favorite genres of music, but I also have a passion for piano, piano & cello duets and viola duets as well as classical music.
9. Movies and television account for 50-60% of my life. Horror, science fiction, zombie flicks and cult classics are by far on the top of my favorite list. Attending horror conventions is one of my much-loved hobbies (and hugging the crap out of male actors :D).
10. Currently, I plan to double major in Cultural Anthropology and Astrophysics with a minor in Film Studies/Acting or Japanese (oh, dear ... ).
11. Earth is a beautiful planet, and we are its destroyers. This natural world has my utmost respect. I love everything about this planet (excluding people), and I will do anything I can to preserve its health (so RECYCLE and save the environment!).
12. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I find that it allows me to escape to a realm of fantasy—a world of which I can rely on when all hell breaks loose.
13. I will not attempt to explain my reasoning for this since many people become instantly disapproving and judgmental as soon as I say it, so here it is, plain and frank: I am a vegetarian.
14. Oh, you should also know that I'm a very paradoxical person. For example, I may be a vegetarian, yet I work at Burger King ...
Well, that covers the basics. There's not much more to say on myspace. If you like what you see (and read), then talk to me. I love meeting people and making new friends. Until then, peace be with you. :)
