Some people still believe that they control their own life... we're the possesed... always there is

About Me

We're witnessing a lot of debates on the topic reality vs. virtual. It seems that the reality stands somewhere on the the end of the axis toward the virtual (see imaginary, dreaming, madness - in the end). And I don't think that this is a true polemic, a crisis of the real: it's all about the contradiction between the pragmatic individiuals for whom the virtual world is a way of advancement and the idealists, for whom the virtual is no more than a extention of the reality (sometimes, a substitute of it, but more rarely than often). If you pay attention to this, the dive into virtual simulates very well, in the emotional plan, the reality. Even more, I would say that it enriches the reality with feelings that you cannot have during a "face to face" contact because everything would be too handy. The reality is to be lived, purely, but the inner life develops into the impalpable area. We think, we feel, we decide using "organs" that nobody has touched and even when we interact with the exterior, we filter eveything through mind and soul... I don't plead here for the total disolution into virtual, yet I believe that it has to be accepted for at least two reasons: it could teach us the patience and overtones, on one hand, and it could teach us to develop the taste for ludic behaviour. We can play endlessly in this flexible world because all is needed are the imagination, good will and courage. Is it much or less? I was thinking today how would look the profile of a deceased user. I'm not morbid, I'm realistic. How that would look? Is the virtual submissive to rotting? Does it stink? Would we see the grass growing wild over the nicely coloured corners? The voice of the singer playing the same old tune from the player would go rasper and rasper? Does it sucumbe to silence? Who would know the access password to clean the site and to switch off the lights? Our friend, Tom?
