Since sliding out of the birth canal in April 2008 Wifey have won the University of Sydney band comp, the NSW campus band comp and been awarded 3rd place in the national campus band comp.
More importantly we have peed our pants playing with awesome bands like Smudge, Peabody, Richard in you Mind, Laurels, Bambino Koresh, Brutals, Go/No-Go, La Huva, Bruno Brayovic, Youth Group, 78 Saab, Howe Gelb of Giant Sand, Dead Letter Chorus, Loveparade, Jordy Lane, Green Mohair Suits, Ernest Ellis, The Exiles, Border Thieves and Melanie Horsnell.

Budding Freudians may take interest in the way Andy Calvert spits out various colloquial references to his (or someone else’s) appendage, but what’s really to get excited about here is the playful bounce of the beguiling Eccentric Boogaloo or the Elvis Costello-ish Chop it Off. Although the fiddle occasionally drags Wifey into folk cliché, theirs is a distinctly Australian sound that tips an accomplished nod at American greats such as Bonny Prince Billy and Tom Waits…no bad thing at all.
