YUNG HOOD®iPOSE

Yung hood was born Nicholas Hood in June 5th of 1989 in Killeen, Texas. Growing up an army brat Yung spent most of his youth in various parts of the world before coming to his family's hometown of Greenville, South Carolina where he has been since age 9. At an early age Yung was attracted to music and use to record on tapes over his grandmothers gospel music. "I remember listening to the Hot Boyz when I was younger and thinking man I want to be like those guys," says Yung. When asked when did he actually start taking music seriously he responded by saying,"when I was diagnosed of cancer in 2006 I wrote rhymes while laying in the hospital bed and I told myself if I survived cancer it was something I really wanted to go after." Yung is no stranger to struggle and hardships. He was kicked out of school his senior year of high school and jailed briefly for assaulting a teacher. Those charges were later dropped and it helped Yung regain focus on his musical ambitions. Yung is currently working on the production of his first solo album titled "I Got Next" scheduled to drop in early 2010. "I Really feel like I can be the next big thing to enter the hip hop industry," says Yung. He has also been quoted saying,"I don't have any problems are any beefs with any organization or any rappers or former singers at the moment I just want to focus on my music and its something I must do alone." the 3 words yung used to describe himself "I Got Next"
