JIGG

Bio Jigg was born in Queens, New York but at an early age moved to Liberty City in Miami, Florida. Raised in Miami, he grew up in a low-income single family home, with one older brother, and quickly learned how to be independent as a result. Jigg always had an entrepreneur mind state and always strived to get to the top and be financially stable. In his teenage years, Jigg was kicked out of several schools due to not conforming to “rules”, but he always sought to do what was right in his heart and form his own convention. Constantly faced with obstacles in his life, he had no choice but to persevere and turn negative realities into positive perspectives. With lack of guidance from family members, he turned that lack into a positive lesson; “You can do anything you put your mind too, even if all odds are against you.” Music was Jigg’s only outlet to let loose his thoughts, emotions, and nuisances that were confined within his head from the ups and downs of hustling and living the street life. With no practice, music came so natural to him, and that’s when he realized he was blessed with an innate talent to create music. However, the real turning points that lead him to pursue rapping as a career, was after going to jail and going through a number of tribulations with deception by people in his immediate circle. He knew music was not only his passion but his calling, and it was time to follow that call with full devotion and dedication. Jigg started taking music serious in mid 2007 and devoted day and night to recording, writing, and perfecting his craft. In October of 2007, he released his first mixtape entitled, “Test the Dope”, which consisted of 19 songs of which 12 were original beats/material, making it a mini album. With little to no help verbally, financially, or mentally from others, Jigg independently composed this mixtape from song selection, to track listing, to promotion. In just a couple of months, he accomplished what some artists take years to do alone. Once his mixtape was released, listeners grew in count and immediately recognized his mind-blowing lyricism, amazing breath controlling flow throughout his music, as well as his array of subject matter and sound. He also began getting radio play from underground stations such as 89.1 and many more. He has performed at numerous venues and opened for big hip hop acts. He started averaging 4 performances a week in order to match the quality of music with a quality performance.Jigg’s main motivation is not only to create good music and bring truly talented artists back to the forefront, but to have a platform to motivate and direct young minorities. He aims to use his life as a prime example to others, that you can conquer any barrier despite the negativity against you. Jigg is currently working on his new mixtape which is slated to be released in mid 2008. He is confident that he will convince all listeners that he is the next big thing in hip hop, hands down.
