ABOUT
The Black Caucus is a statewide student association for California Community College students of African Descent. Active membership is granted to active community colleges while associate membership is available to alumni.
Every year during Black History Month, the Black Caucus hosts the Annual Black Caucus Leadership Conference at a community college in California with the location rotating between Northern, Central, and Southern California.
The Black Caucus is managed by a nine-member Executive Board which includes an ex-officio advisor.

We the students of the Black Caucus of the California Students Assocation of Community Colleges, in order to establish and promote Black awareness, to encourage students of African descent to excel while at the Community Colleges, and to promote unity, recognizing rights, privilege and service at their community colleges do hereby establish the Black Caucus of CalSACC

CONFERENCE
The Annual Black Caucus Leaderhip Conference is held every February President's Day Weekend at a community college campus in California. The conference features keynote speakers and featured presentations catering to community college students.
The jewel of the ABCLC are the education sessions held on the Saturday of the conference. Sessions are designed to empower student leaders of African Descent, address organizational development of community college student organizations, and showcase successful models and practices which foster unity on campus and community outreach.
The conference is also the site of the Caucus' Annual Dinner, Annual Luncheon, and Annual Soulful Breakfast. Entertainment is held on Friday night and officers are elected on Saturday afternoon.

Black Caucus to hold 10th Annual Leadership Conference
The Black Caucus of the California Student Association of Community Colleges will host its 10th Annual Leadership Conference at El Camino College in Torrance Feb. 15-16, 2008.This year's conference theme is "Sankofa: Honoring our past, celebrating the present, building our future," commemorating the organizations legacy. 9th Annual Black Caucus Leadership Conference
Raising the Roof, the bar, and Removing the Glass Ceiling Laney College, Oakland
The Black Caucus of the California Student Association of Community Colleges held its Ninth Annual Black Caucus Leadership Conference, “Raising the Roof, the Bar and the Glass Ceiling,†on Friday and Saturday at Laney College in Oakland.
Friday’s events included a town hall meeting moderated by Reginald James, student trustee of the Peralta Community College District, a keynote address by Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums and a Pan-Africa fashion show.
Saturday started off with a sunrise ceremony and the annual soul food breakfast. After a day of workshops and meetings, participants attended a keynote address by State Assemblyman Sandré Swanson. Read More
