About Me

The Yellow Press is a group of lollygaggers and rubber-neckers. Established in early 2002, the band has been steadily repairing a Chevy Club Wagon and driving many hours to make the big rock in small places. To everyone's surprise, they have made their way around the continental United States and dragged their asses across europe several times...a far cry from the Marin Yacht Club where they first met.//////////////////////////With all members having very different tastes in music...Tim, with his large collection of field recordings and keen interest in the hill music of Scandinavia, Steven enjoying primarily sixties r&b and German Volkmusik and Jason, lost amongst his passion for 18th century music boxes, it's a miracle that they've managed to write a single song together. In October 2005 the band entered couples therapy as a four piece (with former guitarist/keyboardist, Alan Tarkowski), and walked out as a power trio. They were joined on their third European tour by Sebastian Troll, their brother from another mother, on keyboards and guitar. They are currently seeking a keyboard/synth player.///////////////////////////////////////////////2006 has found the band somewhat geographically challenged, as Steven moved to Germany...with Tim and Jason staking out their claims in New York City. However, plans have been made for a new album to be recorded in February of 2007, followed by a fourth European tour in the spring of 2007./////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////The Yellow Press has performed with: JR Ewing (GSL), An Albatross (Ace Fu), Against Me! (Fat Wreck), The Panthers (Dim Mak), El Guapo (Dischord), Ted Leo/Pharmacists (Lookout!), Erase Errata (Troubleman Unlimited), Yaphet Kotto (Ebullition), The Locust (GSL), Kill Me Tomorrow (GSL), Thunderbirds Are Now! (French Kiss); and Kid Commando (Ache) among many others.///////////////////////////////////////////////////// /////////Releases:S/T 4-song CD/EP (limited press of 300 w/ hand-painted sleeves) SOLD OUT Summer Tour 2003 CD/EP, Silver Skate Recording Company SOLD OUT S/T LP, X-Mist/Christophers Records Bad Blood b/w Dead Mans Shoes 7 single, Christophers Records Video for Sixes and Sevens (Filament Pictures, SF) Comfortable Curses CD/LP, Day After (DAY52) Devil in the Details b/w Faith in Modern Chemistry 7 single, Sabotage
