The Rhythm Method
are a five piece psychedelic/Indie/electro band based in Cardiff. They formed in late 2007 and began gigging after just one rehearsal! Within a few short months they had become an established part of Cardiff’s live music landscape gaining notoriety for their spontaneous, high-energy performances and in demand with promoters and punters alike.
By the end of 2008 the band had been voted into the finals of The People’s Music Awards and are all set to win the best Pop and best Rock/Indie act; won a wedge in the Roland UK Battle of the Bands; toured the UK and Ireland, supported The Anomalies, The Infomatics and Operator Please; been featured on the Oxjam ‘WOW! That’s what I call OXJAM Vol. 1 ‘ compilation CD and The People’s Music Awards Winners CD; and released their debut offering – The Front EP –on See Monkey Do Monkey Recordings.
With just half a dozen copies left the EP has all but sold-out! Generating more and more interest from within and without the industry, and helped by a wealth of radio airplay on Q-Radio, BBC Bristol Introducing, BBC Wales and Manchester's Pure Radio among others.
Not wanting to pause for breath, this hard working band went straight back into the studio after the EP’s release and return to us in 2009 with a whole new set of floor-filling mash-ups … now they’re taking them to the road……..

Ultimate Reviewer, The People's Music Awards
"I really like! I love this new roughness. This is ace. Well done… It's like Calexico, the Specials and the Yardbirds all in one."
Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
"[Sunshine Lazy] is a wicked track, well composed and very catchy... I think this would rock a dancefloor live!"
Alex Kenning, Radio 1 Producer; Judge, The Peoples Music Awards
“a shimmering, summery record that is slightly more hyperactive than the 'Lazy' tag would suggest!â€
God is in the TV (Owain Paciuszko)
“it's hard to give them one specific genre usually assigned to pigeon-hole bands, but this is the best part of The Rhythm Method.â€
The Sprout (Yasmin Begum)
“Strong vocal and guitar melodies, solid bass grooves, irresistible beats and memorable synth lines all wrapped up in an upbeat likeability..â€
South Wales Music Scene (Megan Campbell)
“a clattering, shuffling feel that would have found favour in the ‘classic’ days of baggy indie.â€
Buzz Magazine (Noel Gardiner)
