Tracy Stark is an award winning singer/songwriter, pianist, musical director, and arranger.The recipient of the 2008 Dottie Burman Songwriter of the Year Award, 2008 MAC Award, and 2005 Bistro Award for Musical Direction, Tracy backs up a plethora of vocalists of various genres of music - from rock bands to Broadway and jazz singers, including her ongoing work as conductor/keyboardist/vocalist for the legendary Lesley Gore (It’s My Party, You Don’t Own Me, Out Here On My Own) and Academy Award nominated actress Karen Black (Easy Rider, Nashville, Five Easy Pieces, Trilogy of Terror), and Randy Jones (The Village People).As a songwriter, Tracy has received awards for many of her songs, most recently garnering Honor Awards (Great American Song Contest) for her songs “Camera†and "Memory to Wear." Her songs appear on over 20 separate compilations, and continue to be in the repertoires of a multitude of singers.Tracy has appeared in numerous television specials as conductor/keyboardist/vocalist, in the US and Canada,including The Today Show, The American Soundtrack Series, PBS's “Let's Do It Again,†the international special, “Solidarity of the Americas,†and Branson Jubilee, as pianist,vocalist and conductor. She was musical director of the Timeless Diva series, and the annual Dusty Springfield Tribute.Her newest CD, Feast for the Heart, (produced by Richard Barone) includes a duet with the inimitable Phoebe Snow.Always exploring ways to redefine the art of interpreting other people's music, Tracy has a repertoire of at least 2000 songs, and is often referred to as a human jukebox. She can be found rocking out every Tuesday at the famous Don't Tell Mama, in New York City.
