Steve "Bertie" Burton
is a session keyboard player, songwriter, producer.In 1993 he formed the group "Love Happy" with Flid Fabian (Animal Nightlife) and Steve Turtle. Ellie Lawson was recruited on vocals and they signed a major deal with M.C.A.
D.J Legend C.J Mackintosh produced the album and their single "Message Of Love" went top 30.
Bertie continued working with C.J throughout the 90's and has featured on many tracks by artists such as "Whitney Houston" "Janet Jackson" "Seal" "George Michael" and many more.
In 1997 he started working under the name "Phat Manhattan" and produced mixes by "M People" "Cevin Fisher" "Soul Dhamma" amongst others.
He has worked with many producers including "Trevor Horn" "Tim Deluxe" "Kardinal Beats" and more recent credits include mixes by "Justin Timberlake, Lemar, Destiny's Child, to name a few.
Bertie now owns the sample pack label SMASH UP THE STUDIO which produces sample packs for pro audio applications. These packs contain keyboard and synth loops, bass loops, guitars , beats, midi, etc for House, RnB, Hip Hop and Pop.
