BLACK JEANS NATION is an entertainment group dedicated to promoting the alternative music scene by showcasing the finest artists of the genre. Our main goal is to expand the fan base for the genre by revolutionising the way with which fans appreciate their music by delivering exhilarating Live events that don’t break the budget and providing a united front for all good things alternative.
So how does a genre whose leading band’s name is still more recognisable as an Ashton Kutcher movie reach more deserving heights? People need to know about it! How is that achieved effectively? Through media: print, radio and TV. Where is the alternative scene in such media? Limited print, rare community radio programs and TV exposure is practically non-existent!
So then how does one attract such media coverage in order to reach substantially more potential fans? Music IS business. One must show that their “product” is in demand and capable of reaching a wide audience. So without media in our corner like other genres dictating to the masses what is “cool” how do we inspire such a demand? With unity. A united genre which draws on all the fans of its participating bands. A collaboration that offers people a community to belong to.
How do we intend to do this?
By working with equally passionate and ethical people who share our vision that the alternative genre is worthy of much greater things.
By not being content to just take another piece of the humble pie being offered to us and instead desiring to create a much bigger pie for us all to feast on.
By being proactive on a grassroots level, utilising the resources at hand rather than praying for a free ride from a media outlet or record company.
With personal attention, not treating people like a number, but instead genuinely making them feel welcome and offering them a community to belong to and participate in.
Flooding every outlet available to us with Live footage of our bands, interviews and documentaries which showcase our many wonderful venues and the culture which is on offer.
By forging links with overseas bands and organisations with similar proactive mentalities and a hunger to achieve beautiful things on the back of hard work, positive interaction and wicked music. Our model is something we believe can be adopted in other nations to provide a healthy, booming scene where as a brotherhood the sky is the limit.
By using the united fan base as a bargaining power with which to receive more media coverage. More alternative magazines, dedicated radio, internet and TV music broadcasting programs which showcase our music and culture to an ever expanding and passionate audience.
By making this journey with ethical steps in order to maintain sustainable growth for the genre rather than allowing it to be taken on a ride on the “magic business carpet” as an “it” genre before being dumped onto the scrap heap when something more marketable comes along and all the money which the actual scene isn’t generating for itself immediately dries up.
BLACK JEANS NATION is not a management company. It’s not a record label. It’s a vision. An idea. We love alternative rock and metal music. We love our individuality as much as the common bonds which unite us in our community. We see black jeans not as a symbol of conformity but an object which binds us regardless of whether we prefer melodic hard rock, progressive, screamo or Australcore.
The revolution is about to begin…
