Aporia

The “Aporia” was created in Formia (Central Italy) in 2006 as an instrumental band by keyboard player Carlo Lodi, guitarist Felipe Praino, drummer Stefano Mancini and bassist Silvio Assaiante. At first their repertoire was made by covers from rock and metal bands, but soon Carlo composed several pieces which created a peculiar musical concept. The idea was based on the Italian term “Aporia”, which means “doubt,” but is also the scientific name of a white butterfly. After several contests and live performances the band realized that they needed a singer; with Marco Matrullo in the summer of 2007 they found stability and arranged their compositions for voice. In this period the guitarist's brother, Diego Praino, started to collaborate with the band, both as lyricist and as transcriber. In the summer of 2008 Marco had to leave the band and Aporia started to search for a new voice. Stability was reached again with Germano Dieni, a singer who Carlo had met earlier in his life. During the second half of 2008 the band worked on the concept album “Judgement of Silence”, which came to life in January 2009. www.myspaceeditor.it
