About Me

I listened to and sang along with just about all music, as I remember, I don't exactly know how I learned to play what when, I remember being around guitarists and singers, and my dad played sax as his voice of choice, but he played just about any instrument.
With the Native (Yakutat) Dance group Mt. St. Elias Dancers I learned the power of drums and good harmonized singing, and man the original singers were something to sing along and dance with, can never go back to that, but to get back to singing it again will happen!.
My first stage performance was as drummer for a little high school talent show (I was 11) - we did CCRs "Bad Moon Rising", then at 13 (Everett, Washington)I did Kingston Trios "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" on acoustic(not singing). I got an electric (JCPenny) with a lil amp from Vince Johnson and started working with a friend (Marvin Adams), together we just learned to play the instruments. He was a good natural drummer! We did a talent show, a medley of tunes we just made up. Pretty good reception from the locals.
From 14 to 19 I did jams with friends and just had a tough time finding a jam! Gilbert Long (RIP Gerbie) a very talented muscian showed me some tips on picking up leads & bass.
I mostly played along with the cassette player piped through my Carvin gear - lots of Jeff Beck, Bad Company, Thin Lizzy, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Creedence, Stones - all the Guitar groups! After learning licks I threw in some of my own. I didn't play much after the early 80's to late 2001.
I just PLAY!
