Underground Parliamentâ„¢ (UP) is a binary hip hop group that entered the music scene in the summer of 2007. The group consists of two emcees/producers: Eksperiens and Minus 1, who in a short span of time were able to develop and operate under their very own independent label, Sound Proof Recordingsâ„¢ (SPR). Since the time of its birth, UP has actively been working on numerous projects with both independent and major label artists on a global scale, while setting an abundant number of stages on fire.
An active lyricist since 1996, Eksperiens began his journey as a master of ceremony in 2005 upon his co-establishment of a binary hip hop group known as Travelers. In 2007 he joined forces with another lyricist known as Minus 1, leading to the formation of the hip hop group Underground Parliament. With an inclinatory sway between American and European hip hop, Eksperiens has been influenced by such artists as Black Thought, Dilated Peoples, Timbo King, K.C. Da Rookee, Looptroop, and Harleckinz.
Influenced by such legendary names as Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G. Rap & D.J. Polo, EPMD, Gangstarr, Sunz of Man, and Killarmy; and hip house legends such as Fast Eddie, Musto & Bones, Kool Rock Steady, Tyree Cooper, and Twin Hype, Minus 1 has been an active lyricist since 1991. In 1998 he co-founded a five-man lyrical cipher known as Missin Ink, and in 2007 he became a co-founder and member of the two-man hip hop team known as Underground Parliament.
