Blind Pew (Trampled by a Horse)

About Me

Blind Pew staggered into existence in about 1976 when Dave Peddie and Paul Reaper asked fellow flares wearer Graeme White to join them and start a band. The guys were quicky joined by Neil McLaren on Bass. Kicking off with covers and playing anywhere that would have them, the band began to write its own material. Their music is a mixture of poppy post punk and tripy Wishbone Ash inspired prog.Later they were joined by guitar hero John Blair who added a new depth to their sound. Work commitments and 'creative differences' meant two new additions around 1980 when friends Gregor White and Barry Yule joined on Drums and Bass.By now the band was playing their own set at venues such as the Galleon, the Bowling Alley and the world famous Tayside Bar.Blind Pew only made one recording which didn't really capture the energy of them as a live band. A track from this appeared on the 'Dundee Compilation CS' (1980) ["AAGA" / Waiter Waiter / Erasmic Superfoam / R.T. Ripper / Atomic Grape / Blind Pew / Data DD1 4BS / Boo Hooray / Pigs Are Cute /Vex / The Blush / M. Kane / Brian]Women and work caused the band to break up in 1982.But watch this space. Instruments have been dusted off, creaking fingers lubricated and fat butts pulled of the couch and the Pew sound will be heard again.Update June 09: First gig in new format at Hustlers Dundee 6.6.09

Feels just like starting over

Inpired by reminicing over the Scrotum Pole's video has inspired the original Pews to creep out from behind their desks, remove the shiny arsed suits and plug in their guitars once more. The studio is...
