The Conway Story

About Me

We like dark paintings with flashes of light. We like Silent Hill in the back of a transit van travelling at 30mph through Manchester at night. We like strings. We like analogue synthesis, especially when recorded onto tape. We like crossing the Thames. We like David Lynch. We like fortuitous accidents while recording. We like bronze things that have aged badly. We like dropping to a single acoustic guitar from a wall of distortion. We like Sean Genockey and Chris Sheldon. We like you.

Sounds Like: "The Conway Story: something both beautiful and intense yet fundamentally fragile, a schizophrenic tug between vicious Pumpkins-like guitar hurricane, and tender vulnerability." "Soars with epic beauty." 8/10.(ONES TO WATCH 2005)
"Wringing out wrenching riffs with crunchy vocals over music that swings wildly between peaceful Sunday afternoon snooze and waking up the neighbours with annoyance." "A grandiose rock sound that's like the early work of the Smashing Pumpkins or Placebo." "The Conway Story could well be one of the best emotionally wracked dark pop bands since Radiohead and Suede."
