Sebastiaan Bouckaert (40) is a talented guitarist, singer, and multi-instrumentalist from Belgium. Last year, he has expanded his skills as a songwriter to start writing new material for his project SAN SEBASTIAN. Sebastiaan has a taste for classic pop/rock music with a strong melody with ardent vocal harmonies. For those who know him, this is not really a surprise: At the age of 12, he sneaked into his brother's room where he discovered the music of the Beatles. His admiration for the Fab Four has continued ever since.Later on, numerous other influences have followed: A broad taste from bands like Crowded House and Steely Dan over to various blues and jazz artists. But his affection for classic traditions in pop/rock music have remained until today.As a relatively fresh face in the Belgian music scene, Sebastiaan likes to perform his own song material live wherever and whenever he can, and who knows, maybe one day release a full album? It's clear that he loves being a performing songwriter. And the more new stuff he writes, the more skilled he becomes. Vorig jaar verdiepte hij zich eveneens in het schrijven van songs voor zijn project SAN SEBASTIAN.Sebastiaan heeft een voorkeur voor klassieke pop/rock met sterke melodische lijnen en pittige vocale harmonieën. Voor zij die hem een beetje kennen is dit geen verassing: reeds als 12-jarig jongetje luisterde hij stiekem naar de Beatles lp's van zijn oudere broer. Hij hield er alvast een mateloze bewondering voor de Fab Four aan over.Later bereide zijn muzikale horizon uit en ontwikkelde Sebastiaan een brede smaak: artiesten zoals Crowded House en Steely Dan, diverse blues en jazz grootheden, hij slorpt het allemaal even graag op.Hoewel hij zeker geen groentje is, is Sebastiaan met zijn eigen project een relatief nieuw gezicht op de Belgische muziekscene. Hij wil zijn met songs graag zo veel mogelijk live op de planken staan, waar en wanneer maar mogelijk. En hoe meer liedjes hij schrijft, hoe beter ze gaan klinken, dus, bring on the songs!
