I love photography, reading, writing, art museums and galleries, traveling, making my own clothes and other garments (to protect the general population from my horrible bo-. . .Ok, Elley, I'll shut up.) Riding with all the windows down on the highway is always fun (Arf!) and I research cures for cancer and work on neuclear physics in my free time.
I'd like to meet:
Old friends and maybe some new ones. Funny people. Nice people. Nice and funny people.
Music:
I love many many different music styles. I hate picking one genre over another, but I know the major music connoisseurs will demand to know specifically who and what I listen to. All I can say is that I exhibit tendencies toward indie rock and 80's music of the worst kind. Other than that, I'm horrible about remembering artist names, as I prefer to experience the music as a feeling rather than memorize the lesser details of the song. (I know, I know, just deal with it.)
Movies:
I love: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dirty Filthy Love, Princess Bride, Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring, Sliding Doors, Waking Life, I Heart Huckabees, Stealing Beauty, Coffee and Cigarettes, 13 Conversations About One Thing, Pan's Labyrinth, Volver and Young Frankenstein. (And counting. . .Whew!)
Television:
None for me, thanks. I'm full of American propaganda and visual junk food for the moment. (But curses, late night re-runs of Malcom in the Middle are my guilty pleasure.)
Books:
Amy Bloom "Come to Me" and "Love Invents Us", Dave Eggers "How We are Hungry", Arundhati Roy "God of Small Things", Susan Minot "Lust and Other Stories", Jim Crace "The Devil's Larder", Dan Rhodes "Dont Tell me the Truth About Love" (only selected stories), and anything by Margret Atwood.
Heroes:
I've found some amazing people in the world, but I'm afraid that our planet is running severely short on heroes these days.
