Brendan is a 23 y/o Australian DJ and producer – currently based in Stuttgart, Germany. From an early age it was clear that Brendan loved music, dancing and of course partying with like-minded friends and party-goers. This love led him into djing and fuelled his desire to practice relentlessly on a pair of ancient Stanton turntables in his parents garage. Every set he would record then listen to intently in order to further his sets and perfect his mixing skills. Enthusiastically Brendan would always hand out his latest mix cd to industry leaders and event promoters always hoping for some feedback or the chance of a gig.
In early 2006 opportunities finally came for Brendan as he was awarded with regular spots at Melbourne’s leading underground nightspots including onesixone, SEVEN, Q-Bar and Motel as well as a regular guest spot on Melbourne’s leading electronic music radio station KISS FM.
In early 2007 Brendan decided to move closer to the hub of electronic music in Germany in order to pursue a career from music – he immediately bedded down residencies at some of Germany’s leading electronic music clubs including Rocker33, Climax and Cine Colibri. These residencies have given him many great opportunities to develop friendships and play along-side some of the industries best, including; Abe Duque, Steve Bug, Bruno Pronsato, Terrance Fixmer, Acid Maria and Martin Eyerer.
Musically, Brendan’s sets are always appropriate for the occasion whether it be a deep and groovy warm up set with some soothing vocals, prime-time thumping beats and atmospherics or after hours dirty stripped back minimal with driving basslines, he knows how to weave together fresh electronic music. Recently Brendan was given the chance to put together an exclusive mix for the respected Galaktika Records podcast community, and also with with fellow Discotronic member Jerome did a live 60 minute guest mix and interview on Martin Eyerer’s hugely popular radio show ‘Session Deluxe’.
The rest of 2007 will see Brendan and the Discotronic crew launch a website with a net label and podcast section as well as continue to run events in Germany and Australia. With fellow studio partners ‘Jerome & Michael’ – Brendan is hoping to have some tracks signed for release in late 2007 as well as further releases under the Discotronic net label.
