About Me

CMW are a Melbourne based hip-hop crew consisting of three members! Custom Mantra and Wasabi!Due to an on going for the search phatness the three were brought together through the growing Australian hip-hop community, supporting each other with various crews and solo shows, slowly getting to the point of a very evident collaboration!!!In 2006 mantra and custom moved in together in nth Fitzroy focussing on the sound and theme of CMW agreeing to fuse raw hip-hop with the strength of Brazilian percussion, combining with Wasabi’s terror cutz and Brazilian rhythm knowledge, the three had found there knish and were ready to perform live!!!The first CMW show was on a Wednesday nite on the 31st of august 2006 at the Evelyn hotel, pulling 200 people, just through street flyers and word of mouth, a very successful evening!! The show brought a lot of interest from local promoters landing the crew a support spot for dj craze at brown alleys fractured nite!! Again playing in front of 4 - 5 hundred people.The reputation of the crew was expanding to great levels, and gaining much respect in Melbourne music scene, expanding in style, fusing grime and tek step, splitting heads with a range of new high end synthesisers and drum machines resulting in some of the biggest beats in the southern hemisphere!Even though the group are quite new the name is growing at a rate of knots! And are a sure bet when it comes to dope raps, scratches and phat beats CMW are sure to deliver a street style, grimy hip-hop dnb experience!!

Producing beats for Elf Tranzporter the rusheffect, Defheadz, and now CMW Custom has slowly made his way in as a prominent producer for Australia!!!MANRTA.................Mc Mantra one of Australia’s most respected and talked about young lyricist, he delivers razor sharp observations ans narratives with devastating precision, with an energy that’s undeniable!! Mantra has made his mark as a major force in Australian hip hop as a part of Equils and Illzilla and individually with collaborations with the Herd and Weapon XWASABI...Wasabi spreads cuts through trax creating hip hop bliss defending the underground party scene with warrior turntable techniques and death defying production, Wasabi has played all over the Australia and world with bands such as [Bad Boys Batucada] Combat Wombat, Fortknight productions, Cyclones, Defheadz, Illzilla, and with Elf Tranzporter!! Over the last 3 years Wasabi has worked with and supported many international acts such as, Arrested development, Kool kieth, and Mix Master Mike, Cash money dj Craze and many more!!!!
