Sic Osyrus was born and raised in Philly. Living in Philly was kind of rough for Sic Osyrus just like any other hood, but what made things much harder for Sic was the fact that he has nine siblings, all living together in the same house with their Mother and no Father.
Sic’s mother thought they would have a better chance for survival if she moved the family to the south, but when they arrived to the south is where Sic felt challenged because it was a much slower environment than he was generally used to. While down south a great thing happened, Sic Osyrus met up with his cousin Gabe and Un. Immediately after they reunited, the three cousins started making music with a couple of Sic’s homies from New York.
After completing High School down south, Sic moved back to New York with his cousin "Un" to be his eyes. Sic and Un stood on their music grind but in that year, unfortunately Un passed away. Un’s death took a huge toll on Sic’s life and also left Sic homeless. Through it all, Sic knew he’d jump right back on track and he did.
Sic Osyrus defines the emotions in his music as his strength, flaws, fears, his ups and his downs. Sic’s sound is that of which makes one second guess their reason for being who it is that people see them as. Sic stated “My sound is Life. I want to make it in this music industry because I want to get paid to do things related to my passions instead of doing other things to get money that will not benefit me or my family's future”.
Sic also expresses how although his upbringing was difficult, it made him stronger and taught him to make something out of nothing. “I respect the artists that have paved the way like KRS One and Redman Sic says. I want to be an artist that people say the same about. I did a lot of things that put me in positions that almost jeopardized my future, I learned from my experiences and I share them with others through music. When you press play, you will understand”.
“I’d like to show people that they can do what they want to if they believe in themselves and their music. Sic Osyrus is the name!”
