He is a true student of soul music. At a very young age, Jason "J. Watt" Watson was said by most to be an old soul trapped in a young mans body. History definately does repeat itself in the voice of this northern gentleman. One listen to this singer/songwriter's voice and you transported back to a time when music was music. Combining Barry White like deepness/raspyness with Luther "esc" softness/precision, he creates a sound that truly transcends all ages capable of standing the test of time.
J.Watt's musical journey began in the fourth grade when he played the saxophone and sang in chorus. It continued in the sixth grade when he received a Karaoke Machine for christmas. "My room-mate had a tascsam board and computer and would be up all night in the headphones", says J. Watt. Turns out that his room-mate made beats and one day while bored him and a friend recorded two tracks signing songs they recorded two tracks siging songs they had wrote one day. From that moment on, music became his destiny.
After his sophomore year in college, J. Watt left Cortand to attend Old Westbury college on Long ISland near his home. He wasted no time getting involved with the local music scene on Long Island.
