The Cosmos

About Me

All sounds are created and played manually on a MIDI controller keyboard connected via USB to an iMac and using the Garageband program. No samples or mixing of other songs is involved, all melodies, bass lines and synth. parts are written by myself. Most of my drum tracks are drum loops that I have cut down, pieced together and greatly manipulated however some are also played through the keyboard.
The Cosmos' second album, Distant Traveler, is available on Amazon!
The Cosmos is the work of 23 year old ambient composer Marty Glassley. Progressive, ambient spacemusic and more recently electronica, trance, hip hop and pop oriented electro songs. The Cosmos draws strong influence from jazz and orchestral/classical music, psychedelic experiences as well as the sky and landscape of California's Bay Area. Marty has many collective years experience with various instruments including drums/percussion, electric bass, voice, piano/keys, and melodica.. The Cosmos' music is deeply personal sounds that combines dark and warm tones well to explore the entire spectrum of human emotion; although a lot of it lurks on the darker, spacier and more contemplative end of that spectrum. It is at times very dark, atmospheric and gloomy but also with a sense of calmness, hope, freedom and flight. Close two of your three eyes and enjoy!
