Josh Mancell

Josh Mancell composes original music for a diverse range of film, television and interactive projects. As a longtime composer and associate of Mark Mothersbaugh’s Mutato Muzika company, Josh has amassed an impressive and varied credit list as well as two Emmy nominations.FILM: Josh has scored many independent films such as BONGWATER (starring Luke Wilson and Jack Black) and LOVE COMES TO THE EXECUTIONER (starring Jonathan Tucker and Ginnifer Goodwin) as well as contributing music to the cult indie CHUCK AND BUCK (Independent Spirit Award winner). Current projects include EAT THE SUN (directed by PETER SORCHER).TELEVISION: Josh has written music for television shows such as: GARY THE RAT (starring Kesley Grammer), YOU ANIMAL (starring Jeffrey Tambor), THE GROOVENIANS (starring Dennis Hopper and Vincent Gallo) and CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG (starring John Ritter) which has earned Josh a pair of Emmy nominations.INTERACTIVE: Josh’s music has driven many top selling video games including the CRASH BANDICOOT and JAK AND DAXTER franchises for Sony Playstation (30+ million units collectively sold worldwide) and other titles such as JOHNNY MNEMONIC and INTERSTATE 82.Josh also plays in a band called THE MOON UPSTAIRS whose songs have been featured on several compilation CDs and have been played on INDIE 103.1 FM (L.A./O.C.) and KXLU 88.9 FM. Their first full length album 'Guarding the Golden Apple' was released in the of summer 2007. To support the album, The Moon Upstairs embarked on a 3 week U.S. tour with '60s psychedelic/electronic pioneers Silver Apples. They have recently completed their second album and have already begun recording their third.
