In October 2004 Lawrence, Rachel and Lizzie attended Bedfordshire Music's twice-yearly Chamber Music Course, where young people rehearse in small groups i.e trios and quartets for two and a half days, with an informal concert for parents on the last day. They were put in a trio together, Lawrence and Rachel knew eachother from previous courses and when Lizzie joined them, they all decided to put eachother down as preferred group members on the next course. In February 2005, Ben was added to their number and the parents of all members agreed that they were a strong group and should stick together. Four courses later, they are still together and are now branching out into the uncharted domain of semi-professional paid gigs... We are still fairly young and new to the semi-professional scene, but we have so far played 1 gig as background music and have busked at Christmas in the local area. Our next 'mingling' gig is in October (see Shows). We have a fairly limited repertoire at present, but it still includes old favourites such as Pachelbel's Canon and Handel's Water Music. In case you were wondering, Liberala is a word of Rachel's creation - the first two letters of each of our names jumbled up. Accordig to out resident Latin scholar, Benjamin Phillips, the Latin translation works out as 'Free Wing' or 'Book with Wings' or some other appropriate phrase... Thanks for visiting.
