Singer, songwriter, Matt MacDuffie, started writing music at the young age of 14, producing an eclectic mix of matured sounds from alternative rock to contemporary folk. His intuitive lyrics and smart guitar licks have served as the main fuel for all his musical collaborations so far.
Recently, his earlier work found its way into the hands and heart of new vocalist, Amber Pyke. With little change to the original arrangements, the first set of songs was recorded and Electric Heat was conceived.
After a decade of writing poetry and singing exclusively at private events this recent collaboration has Amber penning verse to music and a new set of songs will soon be recorded by the musical duo. Finding her voice, Amber’s sultry vocals evoke romance and tragedy as well as any. However, she does so with a whisper of innocence. Her lyrics, like her poetry, are of a woman with spiritual connection and vision.
This collision of talent has unleashed a surprising, yet powerful musical project; Electric Heat. Their organic sound has captivated audiences throughout New York State and they are planning a tour for spring of 2008 that will likely include most of the Northeast and parts of Canada.
