I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born and raised in and around the Black Hills of South Dakota. I spent many of my childhood summers and holidays on my grandparents farm outside of Burke, SD. In 1985 I moved to Arizona and shortly thereafter began attending Arizona State University. While there I joined the Student Activities Board improv and sketch group call The Farce Side , performing every Friday at noon. This lead into performing standup comedy, which I have done for more than fifteen years.
As a comedian, I have traveled all across the USA and back numerous times performing my PG-13 clean brand of standup at comedy clubs, colleges, country clubs, and one-nighters. I moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and have appeared on NBC's Days of Our Lives, HBO's Comic Relief, Comedy Central's Standup Standup and Short Attention Span Theater, Oxygen's The Daily Remix, and co-hosted a little Time Warner Cable talk show entitled Hello LA. Fall '96 I was back on the road performing and managing a college comedy tour entitled 'You Laugh, You Lose', appearing at 54 colleges in 90 days. I still perform comedy, just not doing 40+ weeks a year on the road anymore, rather select headline dates, plus more corporate and charitable events.
Spring '97 I began working inside the entertainment industry first for Jerry Bruckheimer, then The Walt Disney Company at Consumer Products, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Feature Animation, Theatrical Publicity, and then back to BVHE as their Digital Coordinator mastering the video and DVD packaging for distribution worldwide. Spring of '99 I began working as a IT Consultant for several LA based national ad agencies, then The Hollywood Reporter and Oxygen. Summer of 2001, I flew to Kansas City to spearhead a historic preservation project and moved there from LA that fall.
In 2002, I created and produce a fundraiser to benefit UCP of Greater Kansas City entitled 'Standup for Cerebral Palsy', which in three show has raised over $70,000.00 for the organization. I have been an active member of the Independent Filmmakers Coalition since 2001 and now sit on their Board of Directors as Treasurer and Executive Director of the IFC PanicButton program. I am also the IFC's webmaster and creator of the Kansas City Comedy Arts Fest, a muliti-day event which benefits the IFC. I also sit on the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Filmmakers Jubilee , an annual multi-day film festival that features nationally known filmmakers and highlights the best local filmmakers.
Spring-Fall of 2003, I produced The Elliott Threatt Show on AM 1510, a 6:00 p.m. to sunset Monday through Friday talk radio program. Spring of 2004 I co-founded All Comedy Radio AM 1340 KCKN Kansas City's Laugh Button with Elliott Threatt and Kent Emmons, a 1000 watt AM station airing the nationally syndicated All Comedy Radio programming. In June 2005 I was asked to be the Executive Producer and Co-Host of the nationally syndicated radio program The Big Dumb Fun Show .
Despite my public persona on-air, on-stage or in front of the camera, I am a very, very private and shy individual, aware of the people I surround myself with as they are a reflection of who I am and who I aspire to become. I am seriously focused and driven in the creation of meaningful work in the multimedia world I live and create. My sense of humor and timing are a great resource for making people laugh at the truth of being human and the world around us all.
