HistoryAfter just a year at large in London, D’Silva have played many of the venues which are the lifeblood of the capital’s live music scene including The Borderline, ULU, Madame JoJo’s, Notting Hill Arts Club (Death Disco), Rhythm Factory, The Enterprise and 12 Bar Club. The band continues to gig regularly at London’s most exciting live music nights.MusicIn their own words:“As a band we all have very different influences. Ruth’s background is classical and her idols are David Bowie, Jarvis Cocker and Debbie Harry. Her songs are about love, life, the usual stuff – but spoken with unusual clarity and boldness. James’ bass and Will’s guitar tread the fertile lands of pop and new wave while Max's classic piano and keys have finished our sound with an anthemic touch. People find it very difficult to compare us to other known artists which is undoubtedly a good thing.”
