About Me

I enjoy the style of Vai, Satch, Al Di Meola, Chet Atkins, Tuck Andress, Tony MaCalpine, George lynch, Eric Johnson, Tom Sholtz,Eddie VH, Yngwie, Randy R., Vinnie Moore and just about any other guitar player from that era. I have mostly taught myself theory and hope to continue learning from playing with others. I went to a few schools and always took some sort of music class and learned a lot from the book by Dan Foxx (THE WHOLE BOOK OF GUITAR CHORDS-LEARN 25,000 CHORDS) Its a great book for guitar players. I loved to listen to Boston growing up from hearing my brothers play them over and over and think that they are unique in writing and sound. Very melodic and awesome and my favorite band of all time I would have to say. Tom is such a genius and a great human being.I mainly play that white Kramer Eddie Van Halen type authentic 5150 style, minus all the striping. I also use a vintage custom white Les Paul, High end Ovation acoustics, Fender USA strat and a high end Jackson, but 95% of the time I use my white Kramer for everything. I play 9's-46 on my strings(Dadarrio) http://www.daddario.com/ and rarely break strings with them. For effects right now I mainly have been using the GNX4 for everything I do for recording and run it in straight so it does not get too muddy with too much effects. My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Matt Mendians on live drums on new tunes and myself.
Influences: Any guitar player that can make a good sound. I get my lessons from the people I have played with in the past and present. Over the years I have only had a few different live bands put together from rock to strange compositions created with my former guitar teacher Bill Mirgo and Steve McElwain on Bass Guitar. On the complex material we have found that us three were the only ones that could play it and to bring anyone else in the mix was useless. The writing on one tune took us approx one month to write, arrange and actually play it. Song lengths would range anywhere from 10-15 minutes with rarely repeating parts and all instrumental. The project disbanded after a couple of years and is something I myself would like to recreate again. Steve is out of the area now and my guitar teach friend is the only one stil around and it's not the same with anyone else in the project we called "RA".
