Text In Reverse was formed in 2001 with the aim of writing and playing a blend of metal, contemporary orchestral music and jazz.
The basic idea was to create atonal music by supplementing a basic bass, guitar, vocals and drums band with a brass section and piano, in a similar fashion to what had previously been done by the likes of Frank Zappa or other RIO bands.
Past and current band members have been, and are still, interested in unconventional, ugly, difficult yet challenging and sophisticated, music.
The band is now only sporadically active due to its members' involvement in other, either slightly more productive or slightly less demanding, musical projects.
