This is a page primarily for our (former - see our blogs) Moluccan Cockatoo, Baby, but also for people who care about Cockatoos and other types of exotic birds and other non-domestic animals. For those who do not share their lives with exotic birds, we would like to help educate you about why it is a HUGE decision to bring a parrot into your home. They're exotic, intelligent & beautiful! They're hormonal, territorial, messy, noisy, & destructive! They’re NOT domesticated animals like dogs & cats. Baby birds mature into adults and after reaching maturity their temperament often changes. They often wind up screaming, & plucking their feathers and/or attacking family members viciously! While this is not the case with every individual bird, it is a general statement that is true. Those who want to make money off you by selling you a bird/parrot usually avoid telling you the truth about owning birds because it would take from their profits! Please EDUCATE YOURSELF before you make a lifelong commitment! Consider the source of this information. I am not trying to make a buck by telling you this – just a difference!.
The movies below are very important, so please take the time to watch them. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth much more. If you would like (and I wish you would) to read about BoBo, please highlight and copy this URL and go visit it: http://www.secondchancebirds.com/bobo_2007_page_1.html
I will be adding more to this as time passes. Stay tuned.
