Generally, whatever I'm interested in...
Whoever they are...they better be ready.
I listen to everything, but mostly listen to house/tech/trance, hip-hop, and all kinds of rock music. Some favorites... House/Tech: Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Sander Kleinenberg, Paul van Dyk, Oakey, Deep Dish, Sasha/Digweed, Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Armin van Buuren, Nick Warren, Push, Hernan Cattaneo, D:Fuse, Gabriel/Dresden, Hybrid, DJ Manolo (gotta give it up to Boston!), and my westcoast boys Simply Jeff and Mizota amongst others ... everyone knows the names of the hip-hop/rock groups out there, but LL Cool J, Biggie, 2Pac, Ludacris, Eminem, Staind, Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, and Sublime are always available for a spin.
Really too many to mention ... but a quick list of top-hitters: Top Gun, Point Break, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, Swingers, Hot Dog...the Movie, Dodgeball (big ups to my brother Thurber for making that one), Wedding Crashers, Pumping Iron, Goonies, Breakin', The Last Dragon, Rio Heat, Fletch, The Godfather I and II, Goodfellas, Scarface, any Bruce Lee movie, any James Bond movie (Connery was and still is the best Bond), any Marx Brothers movie...
Unless it's sports related I rarely catch anything current (mostly because I'm busy and/or forget that a particular show is on)...so I catch most series TV when it comes out on DVD: Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy, 24, Las Vegas, The O.C., Rescue Me, Sopranos, South Park ... old school: A-Team, Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, Miami Vice, Alf, Cheers, Melrose Place (props to fellow Woodstock High graduate Daphne for that one), Seinfeld, some others I've since forgotten...except the greatest show ever: Beverly Hills, 90210 (okay, so I like cheezy TV...who doesn't!?!)
I read a few series books (Harry Potter, James Bond, etc.), but mostly just pick up random biographies or sports related books (recently "Game of Shadows", "Patriot Reign", "Busting Vegas" and "Drive" (Larry Bird) ... in the midst of "An Unfinished Life" (JFK), and a few others ...).
My dad ... there are many people I admire and am fascinated by, but few that I aspire to be like ... I would be completely happy to wind up like the Pops ... oh, and Joel Carey!
