About Me

I grew up listening to just about everything, which had a lot to do with growing up in Kerrville, a small Texas town that, at the time, had one radio station that out of necessity played, well, just about everything... but there was also my dad who, though a surgeon by profession, had once been a concert violinist, as well as three older siblings, each with different musical preferences, who, at their own risk, left their records lying around. Like any musically inclined child with an available piano, I started pounding on it at an early age, and when I began playing the guitar at the age of eight or so, I quickly taught myself a variety of unlikely chords. I gravitated toward keyboards in high school, and some friends of mine and I formed a band and played several shows that were somewhat tolerated by the faculty. I began writing songs then, too, and eventually picked up the guitar again. Circumstances being what they were, I neglected my music for a time, but there was always that need....
