I'm Joey
I'm an ’08 Glen Burnie High School graduate
And am about to start my first year at AACC
I work at the Maryland Renaissance Festival
This year marks my fourth year as the Trash Man
It's the best job a boy could wish for
I love making friends
I have trouble talking to people I don't know
Which can make the earlier statement hard
I'm a good person to vent to
I won't judge you
Or make you feel bad about yourself
I'm very accepting
If you have a problem
Or just need someone to talk to
Feel free to come to me
I can't promise I'll make you feel better
But I'll do my best to help
If I can make one person’s life better
Then I know I’ve done my job
I don't drink
I don't do drugs
And I definitely don't smoke
And I hope to find a girl who shares those values
I would also like to find a girl who
I can have deep conversations with
Debate with, disagree with
And who won't get angry at me for it
A girl who doesn’t mind just being with for hours
Without saying a word
Just enjoying my company
[I've found my perfect girl]
On the surface I seem simple
But I'm very hard to understand
And yes, everyone says that
But I really mean it
I’m sensitive
But not easily hurt
It's almost impossible to get me angry
I always stay calm, there's no point in being otherwise
I'm also really forgiving
I’m not religious
But I do believe in something after death
I’m looking forward to dying
But I’m not going to rush that in any way
Anything else you want to know

"Feelings are a great gift, but they're treacherous if that's all we live for. They drive us back into our selves, you see. What I want. What I feel. What I need. A man and a woman pass beyond just feelings at some point, don't they? That's when they start to know true love. The love of another. The joy in another's existence. The wonderful ways that the other person is not like you, nor you like them. What you said about the prison of self you felt you were in-- that was very exact. Love releases you from that prison, you see."

"A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way. This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, 'You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired.'"

"God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."
