About Me

Urban Cat league is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in New York City. We are dedicated to providing feral and stray cats with the best possible quality of life. This includes, but is not limited to:
1. TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) to control feral cat populations through non-lethal means.
2. Providing a LOW COST FOOD CO-OP for feral caretakers.
3. Socializing feral kittens and finding them loving, adoptive homes.
4. Raising public awareness about feral cats. Just because an animal is not "adoptable" in the traditional sense DOES NOT mean that he or she deserves cruelty, neglect or even death.
Urban Cat League relies solely on PRIVATE DONATIONS-to help us continue our work for New York City's homeless kitties! Please find it in your heart to help us us help these beautiful animals. Your gift is FULLY TAX DEDUCTIBLE!! No donation is too small-help save a life today-CLICK ON DONATION KITTY NOW!!

ADOPTION/RESCUE ALERT!!! Duffy the kitten was saved from a rough life on the streets and is looking for a home! Duffy is 12 weeks old, is friendly energetic, and playful. She has tested positive for the Feline Leukemia virus (FeLV+), so she will need to be either an only cat or live in a home with other FeLV+ kitties. The wonderful human who rescued Duffy is wiling to transport her, or to meet an adopter halfway. If necessary, a longer, multi-leg transport can be arranged! Look at this sweetie!
Urban Cat League is no stranger to miracles; here are just a few of the great stories and "happy tails" that surround us at Urban Cat League; First, I just wanted everyone to see some the GREAT KITTENS that Urban Cat league rescued from JFK airport last summer. Here's a peek at the baby who brought Urban Cat League to Myspace: My name is Pebbles. When I was about four weeks old I was found, abandoned, in a pile of bricks outside the Lincoln Tunnel. I have Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which makes me act a little wobbly, like Katharine Hepburn.{PEBBLES NEWS FLASH: Thanks to MySpacers and Urban Cat League, Pebbles the CH kitten is thriving in her new home!!}-Pictures to follow SOON!

Everyone, please welcome my "crazy cousins"! Urban Cat League saved them from the streets of NYC but what they really need are LOVING HOMES! MySpacers came through for me-I JUST KNOW that you do it for these precious babies.
RUBY THE JFK KITTEN HAS LANDED-she's a gorgeous tortoise-shell kitty, she's a complete love bug who has bonded with CowCat, and she needs a home! Ruby was rescued this summer as a tiny baby from a parking structure in JFK airport-Can anyone in the NYC area reach out and give Ruby the love she deserves? Here's Ruby's current love interest--the massively handsome COwCat!!! (wonder why we call him that? Look at those spots!)
Well, hi there! My name is Rhett and I am one smooth customer. BIG, BIG news for me today-my one true love--Scarlett the kitten--and I going to our FOREVER HOME--today!!! I'm going to miss my foster mommy very much, but I have a whole new adventure to go on!!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

WE WANT TO MEET OUR PUURFECT FAMILIES!!Ruby, CowCat, Jimmy Cooney, and the gang were all rescued from EXTREMELY dangerous locations in New York City. Urban Cat League is dedicated to saving kitties like these who otherwise would have no chance against cars, trains, and bulldozers.

They are safe for now, but they need YOU to help them complete their journey.

---- UPDATE: As of early 2008, Ruby, Jimmy C. and the gang were all ADOPTED! Thanks to everyone who reached out to spread the word about them.-----------

UPDATE 6/26/08: Urban Cat League, with the help of its resident 'cat whisperer', is currently socializing two litters of kittens rescued from the streets of New York City. They will be available for adoption soon.--STAY TUNED FOR THE FIST GLIMPSE OF THESE ADORABLE BABIES!!
