The Fierce Goodbye is a dynamic 5-piece rock band from South Houston. The band started in November of 2005 as a 3 piece of drums, guitar, and keyboard. After a quick line up change in late March of 2006 Lead Guitarist Ariel Pagan, Rhythm Guitarist Patrick Knox, and Bassist Donovan Bergin joined the band. Realizing their lack of drummer, they tried a few amazing talents out until syncing up with Thanushka Lewkebandara. After a few weeks of practice they had their first show with touring band Uncommonsense. In August of 2006 Thanushka left the band to study drums at the LA Music Academy in California. With the departure of Thanushka, the band hooked up with former Otenki drummer Matt Mellin. After only one practice the band knew it was right. Soon after Matt joined, Lead Singer David Rudd decided to put down the guitar and focus only on vocals. Soon after, Nick Taylor joined the band as a guitarist. With the current line up being set, the band was ready to get some heavy shows under its belt. They have shared the stage with Oh Sleeper (Solid State Records), Uncommonsense, Derek Webb (INO Records), The Robbie Seay Band (Sparrow Records), and Emarosa (Rise Records). With a growing fan base this band promises to be the next biggest thing in modern rock.
