About Me

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL ANDREW BLACK STREET TEAM MY SPACE PAGE!
Andrew Black is a mainstay in the Atlanta music scene. Andrew is a professional guitarist/vocalist. He began playing open mike nights in the Atlanta area in 1992, and it wasn’t long before he formed his own band and made his mark in the local music scene. He has since toured all over the country, both as a solo act and with his band. His music encompasses many styles and genres, including blues, jazz, southern rock and country. His distinct soulful voice and sweet guitar licks cut right to the heart. It isn’t difficult to hear the influences of some of his heroes in his music, including Albert King, George Benson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Prince, to name a few. Andrew has shared the stage with many great musicians, including Barry Richman, Tom Gross, Sean O’Rourke, The Derek Trucks Band, with Yosi Piamenta, John McKnight, Yonrico Scott, Jack Hall, Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Oliver Wood, Count M’Butu, Tinsley Ellis, Derek St. Homes, Chuck Rainey, John Schwenke, Charlie Wooten, Zack Brown, Coy Bowles, Mo from Mothers Finest, Caroline Aiken, Bill Sheffield, Wayne "Bear” Sauls, Donnie McCormick, Sean Costello, Joe “Lex” Luther to name a few. In addition to performing solo shows throughout the southeast, Andrew tours with the Andrew Black Band.

NEW REVIEW OF ANDREW BLACK & THE NATURALS' NEW CD "14TH & CRESCENT" BY SOUTHWEST BLUES MAGAZINE! CLICK HERE TO READ:
From Brad Eberle, Owner/Operator of Fee Lay Gumbo in Kennesaw, GA:
"We opened Fee-Lay Gumbo in Early April '02, our vision to bring fresh creole fare, cool blues, and original art, to the good people of North Cobb County and surrounding areas. I set out to find a musician who best embodied the heart and soul of our endeavor; someone who played their music with the same passion that we have for what we do. Walking into an open jam night, I witnessed player after player, no one grabbed me. As I began to make my way to the door, Andrew Black hit the stage. I was immediately drawn in. The funky stylings he presented with his blues were absolutely amazing. I could not get enough. For over a year now, An drew Black and The Believers have been delivering a message to our guests every Thursday night -- one that keeps them coming back again and again. I consider Andrew to be not only a gifted singer and musician, but a true friend and colleague -- someone believers everywhere will come to know and love. It is with great t pleasure that we bring you Andrew Black & The Believers - Live at Fee-Lay Gumbo."
Howard Leese (of Heart & The Paul Rodgers Band) on Andrew Black (Andrew offers his vocals on a track on Howard Leese's upcoming CD): "“Introducing Andrew Black! I wanted to do a straight Blues song, and Lucy Piller, head of the Paul Rodgers Fan Club, goes ‘You gotta hear this guy, this local guy, he’s got a great voice.’ And she knows. She’s a big Paul Rodgers fan. She sent me a couple tracks of this guy and it’s like, ‘Oh my God! Why have I never even heard of this guy before?!’ The guy’s phenomenal! So I sent him the Blues track that we cut up in Seattle, and he comes back with a killer vocal. This guy’s a great singer, and I wanted to have a couple of guys on here who were unknowns. Everybody expected there would be a few name singers, but I want to kinda introduce a couple guys too. So Andrew is one of those, and he‘s a really good Blues singer."

Andrew was recently interviewed by Frank Coon of Hounddog Radio. The entire show, including music from Andrew's live CD and new CD "14th & Crescent" may be heard on HOUNDDOG RADIO 's website. Thanks to Frank and Hounddog Radio for their support!
