Fall 2004
Tripkase [2007] is an audio project produced in late 2004, involving two artists, Erik Sorquist and Robert Norman. Erik playing all guitars and singing lead vocals, Robert on drums and lead vocals. Immediately, the writing began.
Weeks pass, and the duo adds bassist, Phillip Cooper. Now a three piece trio, Tripkase is considered complete.
Summer 2005
Two Demos later, (one with Billy Teichmiller owner / operator of Mill Kids Music in Huntsville AL, and their 2nd with Jeremy Stephens of Clearwave Studios in Decatur AL), Phillip Cooper decides it is time to leave Tripkase. After many auditions to replace their bassist, Robert and Erik decide to move on and record their album, performing all tracks themselves.
Spring 2006
Spending many nights working on what will become their debut album, Erik and Robert re-teamed with Jeremy Stephens in mid 2006 to start the recording process.
Summer 2007
Not having a bassist made live shows difficult for Tripkase. In promotion of their album, and for a good cause, Tripkase played their first and only show at Wal-Mart performing with other local bands to raise money for the Childrens Miracle Network. Even though they pulled it off as a duo, it was time to find other members.
Brent Baker is a drummer from Huntsville AL that joined Tripkase in July of 2007. This was due to the change of format in Tripkase. Robert was now the front man / lead singer. This mutual decision was made in order to allow Erik more concentration on guitar and backing vocals. Still in search of a bassist, they began learning cover tunes for live performances.
Present
After much consideration, Erik decides to leave Tripkase. Robert and Brent will continue the project, working with new members of Tripkase. They are currently rehearsing for upcoming shows and various events.
