My name is Kill Kaare alias Kill Baba and I am Estonian musician. I have participated in many different bands and have played with good musicians from all-over the world.I am percussionist who has concetrated to learn and play oriental drums. My favourite instrument is darbuka (arabian tabla) which I have studied about ten years, instructed by different good teachers from Egypt and Turkey. In the last four years I have also learned to play Indian folkloric drum dholak in the Pushkar Music School in India, where the local students started to call me with name Kill Baba. For addition of these two main instruments I play also different percussioninstruments like djembe, bendir, dhol, tasha and aboriginal wind-instrument didgeridoo.Today I belong to the next bands:Romb (www.myspace.com/r0mb) is underground jazz band which music is fusion of clubjazz and ethnic elements from all over the world. I am the one of foundation members of this band. We have made one LP („Tromboya“;MKDK RECORDS www.mkdk.agentuur.ee) and our new album is goming out in autumn 2007.Atlas (www.myspace.com/bandatlas) is a unic folkband in Estonia because it plays Caucasian folkloric music and also medieval music from early- christianity. I have played in Atlas about two years and we started to record our music in summer 2007.Bombillaz (www.myspace.com/bombillaz) is a new project, which we created with guitarist Paavo Peterson. We try to combine reggae, reggaeton, bhangra and oriental pop. Our demo- single Raggamasta has been played in the Estonian radio stations and got a great respect. Raggamasta is my debut as MC.I have a fruitful co-operation with next great musicians:
Arno Kalbus is my good friend. We have played together more than ten years. He is playing drum set in the Romb. About five years ago he started to learn Indian tablas . Our jam sessions extended to superb team-work and for today we have given many very good concerts. Now we started to make our first CD (Tabla&Tabla).Henn Rebane (www.hennrebane.ee) is one of the most known Estonian accordeon players. He asked me to support he’s amazing programme New Folklore with my percussion and hopefully our co-operation will continue in the future.Zahira Dance Group. (www.zahira.ee) With Arno we have a long-time musical relation with a great belly-dancers from group Zahira. They are an exellent artists and we have had more than fifty concerts together. Special thanx to their guru Pille Roosi who gave me an idea to start learning darbuka.Aladin Abbas is Egyptean oud player and music scientist who is teaching oriental music in Sibelius Academy in Finland. He is my guru and has advised me on my first steps of darbuka playing and in oriental music world. We have shared many memorable musical moments together.
